NWDC will host a Trader’s Market of handcrafted and original products at the Lichtenburg Town Hall on Saturday, 5 September 2015.
The market is one of the special projects the NWDC has embarked upon to stimulate economic activity in the North West Province’s towns and small “dorpies”. The aim of the market is to expose local SMMEs to a buyer’s market so as to grow their products and service offerings.
Vendors selected for the market include painters, sculptors, fashion designers, farmers & steel artists offering beadwork, jewellery, shoes, knitted items, crafts, fresh produce and more. A number of food vendors have also been included to ensure visitors would not go hungry.
The trader’s market is a joint project by the NWDC and the Ditsobotla (Lichtenburg) local municipality, with the support of FEED – the provincial department for Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development. Vendors have been selected in consultation with the local municipality. Lichtenburg-based crafters and traders who wish to participate in future markets, are encouraged to register with the LED Office of the Ditsobotla Local municipality.
The market will run from 10:00 to 15:00 on Saturday, 5 September 2015. Entry will be free of charge.
