Anger Management Solutions – Transforming Lives Through Emotional Intelligence
In a country grappling with increasing violence, fractured families, and emotional unrest, one man has dedicated himself to healing hearts and transforming minds.
Lawrence Kwena is more than just a counsellor or motivational speaker—he is a catalyst for change, harnessing the power of emotional intelligence to rebuild communities from within.
In the centre of Potchefstroom, a quiet yet powerful movement is reshaping lives—one emotion at a time. Founded in 2022 by Lawrence Kwena, a passionate facilitator, motivational speaker, counsellor, researcher, life coach, and author, this MSME was born from a deep desire to heal and empower communities.
After his contract with Correctional Services concluded, Lawrence partnered with Families South Africa (FAMSA) to further his mission of emotional healing.
Inspired by the openness and cooperation of male and female inmates during therapy and behavioural sessions, Lawrence witnessed firsthand how unaddressed anger serves as the root of many societal issues, including gender-based violence (GBVF), bullying, and crime.
This realisation led to the creation of his book, “Emotion and Anger-Management Guide,” a transformative tool designed to help readers understand and regulate their emotions.
The book is interactive, engaging, and thoroughly researched. It offers practical strategies for managing anger and developing emotional intelligence.
Lawrence’s enterprise provides impactful programmes customised for diverse audiences:
- Emotional Intelligence Workshops:
◦ Session 1: Anger Management
◦ Session 2: Conflict Resolution & Team Building - Motivational Speeches: For learners and students across educational institutions
- Counselling: For individuals with anger issues, mental health challenges, and dysfunctional families
- Financial Independence Workshops: For men, women, and couples seeking empowerment
These services have reached companies, government departments, church congregations, sports teams, and numerous individuals seeking change.

What sets this business apart
Lawrence’s mission is not profit-driven—it is driven by purpose. His book and workshops are rooted in lived experiences and a heartfelt desire to reduce violence and promote emotional well-being. His aim is to sell 100 books each month and ultimately secure long-term contracts with companies for ongoing Emotional Intelligence training and stress management workshops in the workplace.
He also dreams of hosting Men and Women Conferences across provinces, supported by sponsors, and being featured on major radio stations like Motsweding FM and Lesedi FM (BUA MONNA SHOW), to spread his message nationwide.
Challenges and Resilience
Despite financial hurdles—such as transport costs, venue rentals, administrative expenses, and catering—Lawrence remains undeterred. He has creatively overcome these obstacles by partnering with private companies, leveraging donations, and participating in flea markets hosted by municipalities, NWDC, and other organisations.
His work also creates opportunities for local catering businesses, which provide refreshments during seminars and workshops.
Personal Journey
Born and raised in Potchefstroom, Lawrence completed Grade 12 and attended short courses at North-West University. He lives with his mother, younger brother, and sister, and credits his mother’s unwavering support for enabling him to pursue his dreams.
