Where there is a narrative in each product- intentionally hand-sewn
Ree-Joy Designs was founded by Tebogo Rejoice Mgodoyi (Tebogo TebJoy).
They began trading in 2010 and were registered in 2014.
The business is situated in Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp in the North West Province and draws inspiration from cultural heritage, township life, and retro prints.
Ree-Joy Designs is committed to sustainability and produces eco-friendly, handmade home décor and fashion with an African narrative.
Their brand is uniquely positioned in that it blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Every product tells a tale of strength, community, and African pride. Increasing their range of products, growing online sales, and collaborating with local artists are among Ree-Joy’s short—and long-term objectives.
They wish to see their products sold worldwide while building a sustainable artisan collective and empowering communities.
The company currently employs seven people, two full-time and five part-time. Their large range of merchandise includes handmade aprons, journals, wine bags, tote bags, earrings, coasters, home decor, streetwear, culturally inspired art, and pre-loved clothing.
Ree-Joy Designs has a diverse set of customers, including local and international art enthusiasts, fashionistas, cultural enthusiasts, eco-conscious consumers, and gift shoppers.
Ree-Joy Designs challenge themselves to go international and achieving their success by dealing with eco-suppliers, attending trade fairs and embarking on digital marketing.
Ree-Joy’s Tebogo loathes fast fashion, and therefore in each item she makes there is a narrative, intentionally sewn by hand. Nothing is mass-produced, destined for a landfill.
Ree-Joy Designs believes in giving back to their community. As such, they conduct sewing classes; and Tebogo also offers photography services. She likes to keep busy learning to speak Spanish for enjoyment.
