
NWDC guides and empowers MSMEs during Mahikeng workshop

NWDC participated in the programme and offered on-site information and business services at the MEC’s Colloquium with Business Forums in North West.
The event, hosted by DEDECT MEC Bitsa Lenkopane served as a build-up event to her upcoming Departmental Budget Speech.
The focus of the business forum discussions were on Empowerment, Bridging Finance Solutions, and engaging with Development Finance Institutions and key role players.
Speaking from the event, NWDC’s Small Business Development Manager, Mr Welane Wanzi, explained that NWDC was prioritising three of its main service areas to the audience attending the event, namely rental opportunities in NWDC’s light industrial parks, such as the Mahikeng Trade Market, export readiness for MSMEs and to promote the importance of registering companies and cooperatives.
Services offered on-site by DEDECT and its entities included: Business Registration on CIPC, Applications for general dealers, business turn-around and informal traders, as well as liquor and consumer enquiries.
Institutions presenting on their services included the Young African Entrepreneurs Institute, NEF, SEDFA, NYDA, ABSA, African Bank, SARS, UNISA Enterprise Development, ORICRED Bridging Finance and the Provincial Treasury, speaking on the Preferential Procurement Act.
