SINGAPORE – 31 JANUARY 2023. Nine women from the North West Province are in the Asian city-state of Singapore, participating in a leg of the Women Leadership Programme, offered by the IWFSA in partnership with Fasset.
The women are from the North West Development Corporation (3) and Provincial Treasury (6), participating in the six-module Executive Development Programme.
Following their completion of six learning modules and related coaching sessions, they are currently participating in the Global Immersion portion of the programme, which brings them into contact with women leaders from other countries and continents. They are gaining valuable skills that they will bring back to advance leadership excellence in the North West Province and South Africa.
The coaching and mentoring are managed by IWFSA. IWFSA is the South African Chapter of the International Women’s Forum, founded in the US in 1983. The forum advances women’s leadership across careers, cultures and continents by connecting the world’s most pre-eminent women of significant and diverse achievement. As a result, it brings together an unprecedented global membership to exchange ideas, learn and inspire and promote better leadership for a changing world.
Learning modules are facilitated by FASSET, the Sector Education and Training Authority (Seta) for the Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and Other Financial Services sector.
The modules the group had to complete in preparation for the international leg included, among others: Authentic Leadership; Leading Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; People Management; Future Strategy and Working in and with Boards.
The advancement of women leaders is an ongoing process at IWFSA, with new intakes taking place at every cycle.
