RUSTENBURG, 3 May 2024
Another edition of the Provincial Government’s Thuntsha Lerole took place in the Rustenburg Local Municipality in the Bojanala region.
Service delivery exhibitions and the community feedback session were held at the Bokamoso Sports Ground. NWDC had a presence at the exhibitions in Bokamoso, interacting with the community and offering services.
On the same day NWDC’s Property and Small Business Development departments visited and inspected the Tlhabane Small Industries, owned by the NWDC. Here they interacted with available tenants and inspected the cleaning which took place on the perimeter on the days preceding the event.
MEC Virginia Tlhapi led the DEDECT’s Thuntsha Lerole Business Compliance Inspection, conducted in Rustenburg town centre in conjunction with SAPS, Bojanala Municipal Health Inspectors, and other inspectors from the Rustenburg Local Municipality and Home Affairs Immigration unit, to ensure zero tolerance for noncompliance in the North West Province. The department continues to note noncompliance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, particularly relating to food labelling, issuing of sales records, and price disclosures, observed in many wholesalers and supermarkets.
During the feedback session, among various activities, NWHC presented 130 title deeds to Monnakato beneficiaries. Acting Premier Nono Maloyi led the programme, joined by MECs from various provincial departments, HODs, state-owned entity CEOs, district and local municipality leadership, as well as local traditional and Khoi-san leadership.
