MAHIKENG – 22 JUNE 2024
Young sports players, sports enthusiasts, NWDC staff and the community of Mahikeng celebrated Youth Month 2024 with a day of soccer and rugby matches, arranged by the NWDC.
The Mahikeng Rugby Club made its facilities available for the day, creating a jubilant atmosphere of sport, music and community. Seven-a-side community soccer and sevens ladies rugby between teams from the North West University and Mmabatho were played, before the main club rugby game of the day.
NWDC sponsored rugby boots, rugby and soccer balls, soft drinks, and boerie rolls on the day. The NWDC also thanks Canon, who came on board as a sponsor.
All players received participation certificates, in the spirit of the theme of the day and of Youth Month 2024 – “Actively embracing the socioeconomic gains of our democracy”.
NWDC’s Executive Manager for Small Business Development, Ms Nokuthula Phamodi presented players with their certificates, while Ms Karen Landsberg from NWDC’s Marketing and Corporate Social Investment, presented the sponsored sports equipment on behalf of the NWDC.
