The NWDC attended the Pella Career Expo Project held at the Pella Tribal Hall on Saturday 21 May 2022.
Together with various educational institutions such as the North West University and Johannesburg University amongst others, students were educated by the NWDC on career paths such as IT, entrepreneurship and skills needed for the 4th industrial revolution. The attendees were also presented with GBVF information and contact details. Students were given the opportunity to be proactive in their future endeavours and register on-site for various courses with the Universities present. The event was very well organised and attended which showed the passion of the organisers for the scholars and their futures.
Pella-Matlhako Development Group (PMDG) is a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) which a group of enthusiasts established from Pella/Matlhako Village after realising development gaps in the village. Lack of information available to learners and school leavers in the community was identified as major gaps; hence their key objective is to unlock opportunities for the youth and community.
Education and Skills Development Portfolio aims at providing access to information on career guidance and employment opportunities to scholars, youth and community members in the village. Due to the lack of infrastructure (e.g. internet cafes, multipurpose centres etc.), it is the portfolio’s goal to assist these learners.
Contact details for PMDG members are provided below.
