The North West Development Corporation has come a long way in cementing itself as an admirable economic development agency. The path however has not been one free of difficulty. Although with the help of its ever so determined employees and management, the NWDC has once again held its head above the water in these trying economic times. With great dedication and hard work, the organization has adopted a new strategic plan and strategy together with a revised vision and mission. The vision of the NWDC is to be an efficient and effective economic development agency with the help of the North West Provincial Government. The organizations mission is to stimulate economic growth and sustainable development that will result in job creation and wealth across the province. With this in mind, the NWDC together with its various publics are striving toward its newly adopted vision by applying Batho Pele Principles in all sectors of its business activities and projects alike. Currently the NWDC is aligned with the following high value projects within the North West Province:

With the likes of these projects, the NWDC aims to expand its developmental impact throughout the province. This is also accomplished by means of additional projects linked to the NWDC, for instance, CIPRO (Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office) and the NWPBD (North West Province Business Directory). CIPRO assists all business owners and entrepreneurs in registering their business with the organization, thereby linking them to CIPRO’s database as well as providing access to business advice. The NWDC has joined forces with CIPRO allowing for easy registration at NWDC branches across the province. The NWPBD is a web based business directory. The directory allows businesses to showcase their products and services, encourage information sharing as well as providing the opportunity to attract local and foreign investment. This is made possible by profiling each business with all their necessary information and listing them accordingly. The core focus of the directory is to promote business activities across the North West Province. Apart from these projects, the company plans to give small businesses across the platinum province the opportunity to get started under favorable conditions, devoid of overheads. These small businesses will then be linked to big companies within the industrial area. The NWDC will also further assist these businesses with additional marketing, training and planning enabling them to eventually stand on their own. In addition, the company plans to set up industries in other developing towns within the province, namely; Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp. The NWDC does not only endeavor to advance economic development, but also strives toward social responsibility by attempting to assist communities across the province where possible. One of our company’s primary social responsibility projects in the New Year is an AIDS home in (place) which supports (amount) people living with HIV. We plan to donate funds to the home and its ever so positive residents in an attempt to help them in their ongoing battle to fight the disease.
