NWDC ADOPTS A ZERO TOLERANCE TO FRAUD

The NWDC understands that the illness of corruption within our country is quite evident, and drastic steps need to be taken to ensure that it is rooted out.

The NWDC raises awareness among employees and stakeholders in an effort to stop and prevent all Fraudulent Activities within the Corporation. Employees and clients are encouraged to report any fraudulent activities via the Fraud Hotline.  This Hotline is Confidential and should the caller want to, he or she may remain anonymous.

The NWDC is also actively involved in anti-corruption on a provincial level.  As a member of the Provincial anti-corruption forum, the NWDC attends all meetings as well as workshops which promote non-corrupt governance. The forum is a non statutory body and multi-sectoral structure of various stakeholders whose common goal is to rid society of diverse forms of corruption.

The NWDC has also printed its Fraud Prevention Slogan, “NWDC adopts a zero tolerance to Fraud” on all rental statements and salary slips, designed in the language of preference.  Posters have been printed and are displayed at all NWDC offices.  The Fraud Hotline number is also displayed at all NWDC offices.  All Fraud Risk Management Committee members have been requested to continuously remind staff of NWDC’s zero tolerance towards Fraud at their Departmental Meetings.
