On 30 November 2021, NWDC participated in the inaugural Gender Equality & Disability Roundtable event hosted by the TEMO Foundation in partnership with Sun International and DEDECT.
TEMO Foundation initiated the Gender Equality Roundtable event as a multi-sector convergence platform that brings roleplayers of all genders together for the purpose of reflecting on the gender equality status quo and exploring viable solutions and actions for an accelerated realisation of gender equality at the local level.
The GE 21 Roundtable’s programme featured panellists from key institutions who are sharing their views on the current state of gender and disability equality.
DEDECT, NWDC and other entities were among the participants and exhibitors.
Current and former board members of the NWDC were also in attendance, including Ms Sharon Maleka, Ms Nkamo Phadu-More and Ms Ntombi Koloti, the latter served as the programme director for the day’s discussions.
