The North West Development Corporation (NWDC) condemns the fake and inflammatory statements circulating on social media pertaining to property ownership and calls made to incite the public into illegally occupying the said buildings.

The NWDC legally owns these properties.

NWDC has the responsibility and the right to manage these properties in a manner that is financially viable and in the interest of the public.

In 1999, the erstwhile Bophuthatswana National Development Corporation was legally transferred, renamed and established as the NWDC, including all its property portfolios.

The NWDC is not currently selling its properties and has not appointed anyone nor any company to do the same.

NWDC condemns the related fake and unfounded statements in the strongest terms and will not tolerate such malicious accusations, and as such will take legal action against those who want to incite the public into illegal activities.

Members of the public are urged to report this hooliganism and thuggery to the NWDC and law enforcement agencies as this is tantamount to criminality.

Members of the public are warned and cautioned to not incite illegal activities that will have an impact on the economy of the North West Province on this matter of properties, but rather engage the NWDC on this matter if there are issues and matters of concern.
