November 19, 2025MSMEs benefit from market exposure at Morena Mall
MAHIKENG – 6 December 2025. The North West Development Corporation (NWDC), through its Small Business Development (SBD) division, hosted an MSME Flea Market at Morena Mall, Mmabatho.
The event was scheduled for December to enable MSME sellers to capitalise on the onset of the festive season’s gift shopping among consumers.
This was the second flea market hosted by the NWDC, with the first held in September 2025 in the J B Marks local municipality.
Items on offer included handcrafted goods, cleaning materials, décor, flowers, jewellery, personalised key holders, personalised and engraved glasses, fashion items, cakes, cookies, creative gifts and more.
Said Sam Mudramuthoo, Acting Small Business Executive: “The Morena Mall flea market is an extension of the non-financial support services we offer to local MSMEs and serves as a critical interface in ensuring market access opportunities. Not only does this allow MSMEs to connect with communities and showcase their products directly to buyers, but it also prepares them to manage larger exhibition and sales platforms that may arise in future. “
Going into 2026, the NWDC plans to continue finding ways to expose our provincial MSMEs to greater market reach, customer exposure and grow local MSMEs through market access and other initiatives.
In closing, Ms Mudramuthoo extended her sincere appreciation for the work done by the NWDC Small Business Development unit in identifying the MSMEs and for promoting their businesses and products on the day. They are Nonhlanhla Sekgoro, Keo Twala and Candy Motlaloso, led by the SBD Manager, Mr Welane Wanzi.
