MAHIKENG – 17 May 2024. The North West Development Corporation as the executing agency of DEDECT, showcased the newly refurbished Mahikeng Trade Market during a special State of Readiness Ceremony.
Located at Stand 3290, James Watt Crescent in the Mahikeng Industrial Area, the site has undergone major refurbishments, with an investment value of R8 million.
The Mahikeng Trade Market project will operate as a manufacturing hub, and is now ready to house SMME tenants manufacturing durable and semi-durable goods. The site comprises 23 lettable factory spaces equipped with advanced smart metering technology to optimise energy usage and efficiency.
Available factory spaces range from 25m² to 100m² catering for various types of manufacturing enterprises to fit the needs of SMMEs.
SMMEs in the manufacturing sector and its value chain are invited to apply through NWDC’s Property Division to utilise the factories. Successful applicants will enter into formal agreements to lease the factories from the NWDC.
The project has created 60 jobs thus far, with more job creation possible as SMMEs move into the facility and expand their businesses and labour force.
Download the Mahikeng Trade Market brochure for more tenant information.

This hub will have its own incentives to assist the business that are here, to grow. We want to see you reduce your cost of operation - such as transport, electricity and water. As a development agency, these are the things NWDC would like to take care of.
Mojalefa Nale, NWDC CEO
We plead with our community, our SMMEs and entrepreneurs, let us take care of these buildings. As government we are serving our people through the District Development Model to ensure we grow the economy of the North West Province.
